What is an avarca?
The avarca is a traditional, handmade sandal from the isle of Menorca. Initially made, according to time-honored techniques, with old car tires as a sole. Nowadays more flexible materials are also used. It is essential for these Spanish sandals that the straps at the back of the heel remain in place, even after long periods of wear.
